The Baldy Carpenter is a bespoke carpentry team based in Strathaven near Glasgow offering handmade timber furniture, custom built for your home.
Design
Our team of bespoke carpenters will take the time to design your project from concept to finished article.
To achieve the best fit and finish a member of our team will offer a site visit to ensure the final piece is a perfect fit. Once we have confirmed the particulars, time to sharpen the planers and oil the machines.
Build
Our highly experienced team of bespoke carpenters use a mixture of traditional hand tools and modern machinery to ensure each piece is made to the highest standard.
Using a mixture of imported and local Scottish timber we are able to create unique solid timber furniture for your home.
Deliver
Once completed, we’ll deliver your bespoke timber furniture in place. All of our windows and gates are supplied with hardware ready to be fitted.

If you want it built from wood, we’ll make it. Our bespoke timber portfolio ranges from bedroom furniture to fully customised bookcases.

Established in 2009, Fraser and his team are continuously creating handmade furniture all year round at Baldy HQ, a 240 square meter workshop based in Strathaven, 25 miles south of Glasgow.
Our People
Baldy HQ has a small team of professional carpenters who measure twice, cut and build anything and everything including bookcases, tables & storage solutions. Having access to some of the highest quality machinery from the likes of Speirs and Mathesons, this bespoke carpentry workshop in Glasgow delivering to the whole of the UK.
Our Timber
How do we go about producing the best products we possibly can? Using the best quality timber of course. We source a variety of unique and sustainable timber, both homegrown in Scotland and imported from various FSC/PEFC forests in Europe, New Zealand & America. This mix of timber allows us to create unique bespoke timber furniture and to ensure timber longevity, we pay particular attention to the vulnerability of timber and acquire alternatives if necessary.
Our passion for timber can be seen throughout our projects, but be careful when you visit Baldy HQ – our swear jars’ only use is for “MDF”
